There is no need for you to compare yourself against other people.

Its easy to compare yourself against other people especially as they flood our screens with images. But when you compete against other people, you judge yourself based on their values and metrics. I love the power of social media that is  why i am able to do a blog post like this. However if you are not intentional you can easily  loose yourself when you  only see  the glory of others before understanding their story.

We are living in an  era where in touch of a button we can be transported all over the world through the power of social media. despite the fact that social media is a great tool and keeps us connected with those we care for around the world if you are not grounded in your own values you can easily forget who you truly are especial if you start comparing yourself with those people around you  and on social media.

You need to understand that the grass isn’t always green on the other side. So how can we stay grounded in our own values whilst going on the adventure of our own life  journey? its important that you realize the only person you should be competing  with and impress is yourself. When you compete with others, it would not be a fair race because you and those people aim for different things in life, goals and dreams are not the same. At the end of the day the only person you need to deal with is you. So its important that you make sure you do things that you can be impressed and the feeling that truly matters is the feeling that you have for yourself.

Even though impressing sometimes we want to impress other people thinking that it will make us feel good, at some level at that moment, that good feeling will not compare to how you would feel about yourself at the end of the day.  If you are not happy or satisfied with yourself at the end of the day, your behaviors might not be in alignment with your values, beliefs, morals and standard. In this case its good that you examine your behaviors and see if they match who you are and see what you can improve.

You need to understand that your values, beliefs, morals and standards are a part of you. When you act according to them, you are being yourself and the higher your self-esteem will become.

xoxo
