Christmas is here!

Christmas is here!

Wow you guys we have made it to December. Yes the grace of God has been sufficient for all of us. Who else is excited to see the twinkle lights twinkling? Its that time of the year when we go an extra mile to make it jolly.  Christmas songs, Christmas trees,  Christmas décor, Everywhere I look around  all I see is glitters, Christmas lights, lighting up the streets, homes, shopping malls,  literally  its an evidence that most people are in the mood. Christmas is a magical holiday season that brings with it joy, love, happiness and heartwarming thoughts. There is something special about Christmas that tends to bring out the best in all of us. We are usually kinder, more generous and spend more time with those we love.  For believers  Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Isiah 9:6-7 tells us that “unto us a child is born” and this child was Jesus.  That’s what Christmas is all about.

For some people  December is usually a very busy month getting the perfect gifts for our loved ones, being kind with our words and actions, preparing a feast for a party extra extra. While many people seem to be jolly! Christmas season can also be a time for some people to feel lonely based on many different reasons. Maybe your family is far away and you are unable to be with them!  Maybe you’ve been cut out of the family! may be you’ve just been in a tough separation! or even loosing a loved one.  This year,  we can all attest to it that things have been somewhat rocky. It can feel like you are on an island with no one nearby.

If this is you right now I want to encourage you that you are not alone. Stop for a minute and see how your life is a miracle. Christmas is a season of not only rejoicing but of reflection on what the Lord has done in our lives.  John 3:16 ‘ For God so loved the world, that  he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life’. I want to encourage you to see the bigger picture that goes beyond the Christmas trees, the décor, the glitters, the songs but the true light that is Jesus Christ. See with eyes of a child, experience the wonder of love, and truly enjoy all that the season has to offer. Just because this time of the year gets super busy, it does not mean our lives and souls have to be. Whether things are going on well with you or you are facing greatest pain and uncertainty you have ever known, I want to encourage you to make a room for the one who left heaven to redeem the earth. The savior who is able to make all things new.

MERRY CHRISTMAS  FROM  ME TO YOU.
