Let’s be real with something. When everything is said and done we all can attest to it that it isn’t the easy place to be in. Waiting is hard. Most of the time it is usually unwanted. There is nobody who wants to be in this season.  Waiting requires patience, endurance and perseverance. As humans it is not our strongest talent. However God’s grace equips us to wait well. I praise Him for that.  What I have learn is if we lean on Him, trust Him and follow Him we will go through the seasons of waiting victoriously. But it takes discipline and Faith.

I recently read an article on waiting via the Desiring God Website, and it really did something in my heart. Especially this part where i“We need God to help us want the future he has for us” the future he has purposely written for us according to his will.

I like what Scott Hubbard says about waiting “Seasons of waiting train us to relinquish our role as the author of our own story and take up our role as a character in God’s story” WOW. Seriously though does it get any better than that?  While we are on the season of waiting God is training us to loosen our grip on the story we have written, so we will be able to step out of  the way of what we think is good and let His story the one he has written for us.

As we all know God is the better author than you and me. No doubt that HIS story is the best. I love to think of waiting like when we are on a training season. A good example are the athletes they train really hard even in the off-season. We are all going to have off-seasons in life that are periods of prolonged waiting. So how do we go about doing life in this season of waiting? Instead of letting anxiety and anguish take over and cause us to be restless all the time. We have an amazing opportunity to partner with God and let Him train and prepare us for what is to come. When we do this, waiting doesn’t become miserable. It becomes an expectant, fruitful season preparation.

Are you in a season of waiting? If so, I invite you to practice with me rejoicing as God refines us as we wait for His time.

Challenging? Yes I get it. In the end all things will work together for a greater good. For our own good.
